The term “developmental delay” is an important one in early intervention. Broadly speaking, it means that a child is delayed in some area of development.

It’s not uncommon for parents and family members to become concerned when their beautiful baby or growing toddler doesn’t seem to be developing according to the normal schedule of “baby” milestones.

Early Intervention Occupational Therapy: As an OC Early Intervention (OCEI) licensed occupational therapist, we will perform high quality assessments, develop goals, design therapeutic programs, and select activities to meet the developmental interests and needs of each child. We will work directly with children and their families to develop practical skills for activities of daily living with the purpose of fostering the child's independence in their natural environment. These skills include fine motor skills, cognitive, motor, sensory, and learning skills.
